Bahagian Pertama: Sejarah Awal Melayu Patani (BAHASA MELAYU/ ENGLISH)
Bahasa Melayu:
Pedagang Cina menyebutnya "Langya-shiu".

English:
According to the records of Chinese visitors who made
contact with the countries in Southeast Asia in the 2nd century. The country
called "Langkasuka" already existed.
Chinese traders called it "Langya-shiu". Europeans
believe that the "Langkasuka" is located on the east coast of the
Malay Peninsula between Senggora (Songkhla) and Kelantan, in Patani where the
central government is located in the vicinity of Yarang district today. When
the name Langkasuka gradually disappeared, Patani's name became increasingly
popular and gained a place in the world map. Langkasuka was an advanced kingdom
in the Malay Peninsula at that time. It
has had one of the most important vessels of the ship since the 8th century. It
is best suited for merchant ships to dock and take shelter from the storm in
the monsoon season.
The change of name from Langkasuka to Patani is due to two
factors:
- Change of central government from the City of Mahligai to the City of Kerisik .
- The conversion of religion from Hindhu-Buddha to Islam.
Patani from the outset kept the sovereignty of its country
from disruption of the Ayuthaya Kingdom (Siam). Patani reached the peak of
prosperity and success at the end of the 16th century after Melaka fell into
the hands of Portuguese, while Ayuthaya was busy with series of struggles with
Burma and Cambodia.
